I'm about to make my debut as Elisabetta di Valois in Verdi's Don Carlo and I would like to express my gratitude to the Metropolitan Opera where I have been invited this year for my debut as Madama Butterfly, for my first Mimì in the USA and now for this masterpiece by Verdi. It is an immense honour that has been bestowed on me by this legendary theatre and I can't wait to sing Verdi (and for Verdi) here, and to breathe life into this leading lady who was crushed by a destiny decided by those in power, yet remained regal as a bride and a private woman while living such monumental events.

I'm singing in five performances (3, 7, 11, 15 and 19 November), this is David McVicar's magnificent staging, conducted by Carlo Rizzi.
