Eleonora Buratto’s 2026/27 season brings together major house debuts, signature roles, and an important series of Verdi performances across some of the world’s leading opera houses.
She opens the season with her house debut at San Francisco Opera as Amelia in Verdi’s Simon Boccanegra, one of her signature roles. As the season continues, Ms. Buratto returns to Amelia at Les Arts in Valencia in a new production by Àlex Ollé, conducted by Sir Mark Elder. Her return to the role offers another opportunity to explore one of Verdi’s most complex and compelling heroines.
Ms. Buratto’s season also includes two further major Verdi engagements. She opens the Teatro alla Scala season as Desdemona in Otello, bringing one of Verdi’s most beloved soprano roles to the stage in Milan. Later in the season, she returns to Teatro Regio Parma as the soprano soloist in Verdi’s Requiem, continuing her longstanding connection with the composer’s music.

In January and February, Ms. Buratto returns to Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin as Tosca, one of the signature roles of her repertoire. She then brings the role to the Metropolitan Opera in April and May 2027 before returning to the Bayerische Staatsoper at the end of May. Across these performances, Ms. Buratto continues to explore Puccini’s iconic heroine, whose combination of vocal power, dramatic intensity, and vulnerability has made Tosca a defining role for the soprano.

Alongside her opera engagements, Ms. Buratto returns to Chicago to perform Rossini’s Stabat Mater with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Riccardo Muti. Following her performance of the work in Rome in 2025, she reunites with Maestro Muti for this celebrated masterpiece.
