July 2026 | Verona, Madrid & Torre del Lago

News in italiano

This Summer, Ms. Buratto takes on three iconic roles: Mimì (La Bohème), Tosca and Leonora (Il Trovatore).

On July 3rd and 11th, Ms. Buratto returns to the role of Mimì in La Bohème at the Arena di Verona. Conducted by Francesco Lanzillota and directed by Alfonso Signorini, the performances reunite her with one of the defining roles of her career, and marks ten years since her debut in the role. Widely regarded as one of today’s leading interpreters of Mimì, Ms. Buratto has captivated audiences in productions at the Metropolitan Opera, Berlin, Madrid, and Barcelona with a portrayal celebrated for its vocal refined and emotional sincerity.

Reviewing her Metropolitan Opera performance, The Washington Post praised her as “a magnetic and agile singer”, while Operawire described a Mimì sung with “grace and emotional intelligence”, noting that her “Mi chiamano Mimì” featured an "extraordinarily clear" tone and that her upper register “sparkled like a silver thread of sound”.

On July 18th, for one night only, Ms. Buratto appears as Floria Tosca at the 72nd Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago, conducted by Carlo Montanaro in a production directed by Maria Todaro with sets by Carlo Centolavigna. Since making her acclaimed role debut at the Bayerische Staatsoper in 2024, Tosca has quickly become one of her most significant additions to her repertoire, showcasing the combination of vocal brilliance, dramatic instinct, and unmistakable Italian style for which she is widely admired.

Opera World praised Ms. Buratto’s ability to move seamlessly through the character’s emotional journey, calling her voice “luminous and deeply moving” in “Vissi d’arte” and noting that the aria was met with "overwhelming applause. Bravissima!”

Having debuted the role earlier this season with praise from the press, describing Leonora as "a gift of a role for Buratto, one that shows her at her very best." (Operatraveller)
